The book focuses on H.D.'s experience as an analysan with Sigmund Freud and the esoteric tradition that provided the poet with an interrelated framewok of quest. In a first part, the author reveals how H.D. used aspects of Freud's theories about women and his diagnostics of her symptoms to overturn his misogyny and develop an original female voice.
