Bound in full contemporary brown calf, rebacked expertly saving the original spine, this one with five panels between raised bands, with arch-shaped floral tools at top and bottom of each panel and triangular tools at each side, with small gilt circles within the blank half-moons formed; the covers with a gilt ruled and roll-tooled frame with floral ornaments at the corners, gilt edged; a.e.g. [40], 397, [2] pp. C2 and two leaves of advertisements misbound in the prelims. With previous owner's inscriptions dated 1693, 1738 and 1814, and with a bookplate of Edward U. Roth on the front pastedown. Uniform age toning, first few pages with faint water staining at lower edge otherwise a very good copy.
